Credits: how work gets paid on Cue OS

Cue··3 min read

See what pays for work before you ask for more of it. Credits on Cue OS give you a balance for supported agent work and services, with ways to inspect usage and understand where credits have gone. Cue, the agent, does its work within that system too.

Credits can come with a plan or a credit pack, and approved bounties can pay rewards in credits. The useful thing to know first is what that balance is for: work inside Cue OS. Credits are not a cash balance you can withdraw.

Connect the balance to the task

When you ask an agent to do something, the work may use services paid for in credits. Image generation is one example. A bounty is another way to put credits to work: you offer a defined reward for a result, then review the submission before approving payment.

That connects spending to something you can name. Instead of thinking only about a number, think about what you want the work to produce: an image, a checked result, or another supported task.

Current prices and available credit packs are listed on the pricing page. Those can change, so check the current terms when deciding how much work to take on or fund.

Read the balance and its history

Cue CLI can show a wallet's balance, spending policy, and credit history. The phone apps also show credits and usage. These views help you see what is available and understand the work associated with a change in the balance.

For example, after a bounty is approved, the reward goes to the recipient's wallet. If you are paying for a task, checking the relevant history gives you a way to see the payment rather than relying only on a message saying it happened.

It is worth making this part of an ordinary habit: decide what you want done, check the result, and look at the usage when you need to understand its cost. You do not need to turn every small task into a budget exercise.

Moving credits between accounts

Cue OS supports credit transfers within wallet limits through Cue CLI. Those limits matter: the credit source and the wallet's policy affect what can be sent. Check the available balance and transfer details before confirming a transfer.

Use the wallet guide and the terminal help to see the available controls before you send credits.

An agent's wallet gives its work a visible place in Cue OS, but having a wallet is not a promise that the agent will earn enough to pay all its own costs. Begin with a task you understand and review what happens.

Read the credits wallet feature page for where credits come from and how they are used. The credits wallet guide covers the available controls and links to current pricing.
